Start with my FTMO partner linkFTMO US Pricing – how it actually works
For US residents, FTMO runs a two-step Evaluation – the FTMO Challenge then Verification – followed by the FTMO Rewards Account if you pass. The cost you pay up front is a one-time Challenge fee. There are no recurring platform or monthly charges, and the fee is refunded 100% with your first reward withdrawal after you become an FTMO Verified Prop Trader.
What the one-time fee covers
- Access to the simulated Evaluation environment on MetaTrader 5.
- Risk analytics and dashboard tools during the Evaluation.
- Support and eligibility to progress to a Rewards Account on success.
When you reach your first reward from the Rewards Account, FTMO refunds the Challenge fee – effectively making the evaluation cost-neutral if you pass.
Quick pricing facts
- One-time fee – no monthly subscriptions for US product.
- Fee refund with the first reward withdrawal.
- Fee level varies by Challenge size – pick the size that fits your plan on the official FTMO US site.
Rules that influence cost-benefit
Because risk rules determine your probability of passing, they indirectly determine your net cost. In the US Evaluation the key rules are Maximum Daily Loss 5% and Maximum Loss 10%; the Minimum Trading Days are 4 in each stage. Profit Target is higher in the Challenge and lower in Verification. See FTMO’s “How to pass” guide for the current definitions.
Rule | What it means for you |
---|---|
Max Daily Loss 5% | Hit this intraday (including floating P/L) and you fail that stage – plan daily risk well. |
Max Loss 10% | The overall risk buffer across open and closed P/L. |
Minimum 4 trading days | At least one new trade must be opened on each counted day. |
Platform | US product is MT5 only, netting mode, FIFO – no hedging. |
Scaling Plan – grow simulated balance and lift your reward split
Once you are trading a Rewards Account, FTMO’s Scaling Plan lets consistent traders increase their simulated balance and earn up to 90% of simulated profits as rewards. Reviews are processed on a bi-weekly basis, and FTMO highlights an average processing time measured in hours, not days, for reward requests. Typical eligibility requires a positive balance and meeting growth conditions over rolling months.
Scaling requirement | What to do | What you unlock |
---|---|---|
Consistency window | Trade for at least 4 months and process at least 2 reward withdrawals | Becomes eligible for a scale-up review |
Performance threshold | Reach at least 10% total net profit over the window | Balance increase – typically +25% per step when criteria are met |
Reward split boost | Meet Scaling Plan conditions and maintain discipline | Up to 90% of simulated profits as a real reward |
Scale-up cap | Continue meeting criteria | Scale up to a simulated $2,000,000 cap over time |
Reward withdrawals – timeline and paperwork
US traders can request a reward from day 15 after the first trade on the Rewards Account, up to day 60. Rewards are typically processed quickly after invoice confirmation and the account must be flat when you claim. First-time US reward recipients must submit IRS W-9 and verify a US bank account in their name.

Eligibility and the fine print for US traders
FTMO US is available only to adults who are US residents or US-incorporated entities, subject to KYC and tax documents. FTMO US and the Rewards Account are simulated-only environments – there is no client relationship with OANDA Corporation’s brokerage and no regulatory protections as a brokerage customer. Some US states are currently not supported for registration.
Eligibility pointer | Details |
---|---|
Residency | US residents and US-incorporated entities only for the US product |
Tax & banking | W-9 required on first payout and proof of a US bank account in your name |
Availability | Certain states are excluded – check the current FAQ before ordering |
Regulatory note | US product is not a brokerage account – entirely simulated environment |
Cost vs. value – when the numbers make sense
If you plan for 4 to 8 measured trading days per stage, risk 0.5% to 1% per setup, and keep daily loss far from 5%, the probability of passing rises. The one-time fee then becomes recoverable with the first payout – and the long-run upside starts once you qualify for Scaling and Premium. The US product’s MT5, FIFO, and no-hedging rule set keeps execution disciplined and straightforward.
